Mubina Eldorova is a little girl from Uzbekistan who has been fighting Beta Thalassemia Major since infancy.
For a child with this disease, life can mean repeated hospital visits, blood transfusions, medicines, and constant worry for the family. Her parents hoped that a bone marrow transplant could give their daughter a chance at a healthier future.
On 24 April 2026, Mubina underwent a haploidentical bone marrow/stem cell transplant, with her father becoming her donor.
Unfortunately, the transplant was only the beginning of a difficult journey.
After the transplant, Mubina developed serious complications, including acute gut GVHD (Grade III–IV), CMV reactivation and severe infections. She required intensive medical treatment, antibiotics, immunosuppressive medicines and continued supportive care. Her hospital records show that she was still requiring multiple ongoing medicines and close BMT follow-up after discharge.
